Chris Madigan

Associate Principal | Landscape Architect, Landscape Architecture Skills Leader – Australasia

Chris Madigan is the Australasia Landscape Architecture Skills Leader at Arup and the Co-Chair of the AILA National Committee for Climate Positive Design.

He brings a passion for delivering climate positive, nature-based and evidence led solutions to complex city shaping project. 

Based in Australia, Chris has worked across Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe and Southeast Asia and is recognised as an active contributor to industry in shaping best practice and driving excellence. From strategy to delivery, he guides the design of healthy, greener public places, taking a holistic approach that encompasses environmental systems, cultural strategies and social value to deliver creative design solutions. 

His passion and reputation for delivering climate positive and evidence-based solutions has led to several award-winning projects including the Urban Tree Canopy Study for the City of Gold Coast. 

Chris held senior roles on Brisbane Metro City project and Queensland Health, Healthy Places, Healthy People Shade Guidance and Canopy Cast tool

Chris is a Chartered and Registered Landscape Architect.
