Originally qualified as a building services engineer, Conor Cooney has over 25 years’ experience in the field of Asset and Facility Management. He established the service at Arup in Ireland in the early 2000’s and currently leads our Assets and Operations service in Europe.

Conor has worked with a broad range of clients in both the private and public sectors, supporting and guiding them on their journey to produce better performing people and assets. His aim is to assist clients to run responsible businesses, develop strong operational resilience, enhance performance, generate new capital investment and use digital platforms to turn business data into valuable outcomes. Driven by a clear understanding of client issues and market insights, Conor draws on Arup’s strong cross-disciplinary expertise to develop highly effective client solutions.

Although based in Ireland, Conor has worked on projects across Europe, Australasia, the Middle East, the Americas and beyond.

Conor is a Certified Facility Manager with the Institute of Workplace and Facility Management (IWFM) and holds an Institute of Asset Management (IAM) certification in addition to his building services degree. He is a former Chair of IAM (Munster region) and is the current Chair of IWFM Ireland committee.
