Damien is Arup’s Geospatial, Earth Observation and Visualisation leader for the UK, India, Middle East and Africa region. His team helps clients use geospatial & Earth observation data to make better and more informed decisions.

For more than 20 years, Damien has gained practical insights into how geospatial data and technologies can transform our understanding of the built and natural environments and where and how to apply them. He has worked across many companies and domains, including Transport for London, the Environment Agency, Halliburton KBR and BT.

His team work on award winning projects at the leading edge of what makes digital possible, such as the Croydon Dashboard, a web-based tool to easily visualise, monitor and manage a complex five-year regeneration programme, and Wessex Workbank, which gave Network Rail a single, consolidated work bank to avoid work clashes and duplicated effort.

Damien was an early recipient of the CGeog(GIS) chartership for his Geospatial work from the Royal Geographic Society. He has advised the UK Government’s Geospatial Commission and sits on the professional advisory panel at the Royal Geographic Society. He sits on numerous academic advisory boards and is chairing the Trailblazer Group to create a new Spatial Analyst Apprenticeship in the UK.
