I am a chartered civil engineer and member of the UK All Reservoirs Panel. I am based in Cardiff and lead our dams and reservoirs work for Arup’s West UK region. I am responsible for the overall delivery of numerous projects for Welsh utility company Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, as well as schemes for Natural Resources Wales and other key clients around the UK. 

I have over 20 years’ engineering experience and have worked all over the world, leading multi-disciplinary projects across Australasia, Asia, Africa and Europe. My work for Arup focuses primarily on dam design, inspection, monitoring and remediation. Earlier in my career, my work included mining infrastructure design such as tailings dams, water supply dams, and heap leach pads, as well as civil infrastructure provision, land stabilisation and reclamation. 

Dam and reservoir engineering draws on a wide range of specialisms often with conflicting requirements. I strongly believe that a collaborative approach is essential for successful project outcomes. I work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that reservoir work is undertaken efficiently with public safety at the forefront of the decision-making process.
