I lead Arup’s digital transformation advisory team in the UK. We advise clients on the selection and adoption of the technology and data solutions that will transform their performance.
Consultancy is always stronger when it is backed up by practical experience. I spent my early career as a practitioner, creating software and designing core business systems.
At Arup, I am also the leader for the growing domain of digital rail. I led the digital visualisation of the UK’s railway - a great example of the step-change digital transformation can deliver in asset management and safety. Recently, I have worked with the UK government to take train operating companies – with their complex technology operations – into public ownership. For critical infrastructure like this, delivering results without any interruptions to service is vital.
I believe the benefits of technology should be accessible to all. No-one should be left behind or excluded. So, outside of my day job, I volunteer as a digital mentor. This sees me helping people who lack the skills or confidence to get online, allowing them to apply for jobs, connect with family or simply browse around their hobbies and interests.
