James is the Regeneration Lead for Arup’s Midlands Property team. He has worked on a wide variety of projects across different sectors from concept through to completion both in the UK and overseas, delivering cost effective solutions through quality design.

With extensive experience on mixed-use and regeneration schemes, his collaborative approach has been key to ensure his team integrates with the wider project group. He has been the Project Director for all phases of the mixed-used Paradise development in Birmingham, leading the Arup team through Enterprise Zone funding exercises, phasing studies, constraint mitigation, outline and reserved matters planning applications, tender designs and client monitoring during construction. He also led the Arup team delivering all aspects of design for the redevelopment of the Alexander Stadium in preparation for hosting the 2022 Commonwealth Games and future major sporting events, helping leave a lasting legacy for the residents of Perry Barr and the wider region.

James is a qualified Civil and Structural Engineer by Loughborough University and member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (MICE).
