I am a lighting designer with over 20 years’ experience and an Associate Director within Arup’s lighting practice. I am a Past President and Fellow of the Society of Light & Lighting which is part of Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).

I have extensive experience working in multi-disciplinary teams on a wide range of building projects in the UK and overseas. Past projects include developing the lighting concept for the Beijing National Stadium for the 2008 Olympic Games, the lighting design for the Tate Modern, both the original building and its 2016 extension, and developing a lighting masterplan for Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront district. I currently lead the lighting design for two HS2 stations.

As leader of the UKIMEA Lighting Skills Network, I play an active role in promoting lighting design within the firm, in educating young designers and engineers in lighting, in driving cutting-edged lighting-related research and in marketing the business externally.
