As an Associate Principal and the Americas South Structure Leader in Arup’s Houston office, John Hand designs world-class structures that demand high levels of collaboration between design professionals. With academic backgrounds in architecture, philosophy, and business, John excels in projects involving innovative and architecturally expressed structures, such as the new Houston Endowment Headquarters and the El Paso Children’s Museum.

Since joining Arup in 2008, John has served as an engineer for a diverse array of projects locally and internationally, including commercial developments, academic buildings, high-rises, sculptures, retrofit and airports. Passionate about design, John is also a frequent architectural reviewer at several universities including the MIT Department of Architecture, Roger Williams University, Boston Architectural College, University of Houston, and Texas Tech University.
