Kate West is the Co-Chair of Arup in Australasia along with Kerryn Coker.

Committed to leading with social purpose and driving positive change in the industry and with clients, Kate and Kerryn’s ambition is to help shape and create more resilient, liveable places with an end-to-end approach to sustainable development.

Kate began her career as an engineering graduate with Arup in Perth in 2000, experiencing many disciplines within the firm under the graduate development program. She decided to pursue structural engineering as her core skill and has continued to build a successful career spanning more than 20 years. 

Kate has worked in Arup offices in Melbourne, London and later Europe to work on the Dublin Airport Terminal 2 development. Returning to Perth, Kate was appointed to leadership roles, with a focus on technical excellence, client care, project leadership and mentoring our people. Recently Kate was the WA Consulting Group Leader, guiding planning, advisory, transport engineering and fire engineering specialists.

She is a member of the Australasia Region Board. Kate’s highlight projects include the Perth Airport T1 International Departures Expansion, Perth Airport Terminal 1 Domestic, and the new METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook rail line in Perth.
