Dr Kristian Steele

Associate Principal | Climate and Sustainability Services – Singapore Leader

Kristian Steele is a civil engineer with a doctorate in environmental technologies, and a chartered environmentalist currently leading the Climate and Sustainability Services team for Singapore.

Across his 20-year career, Kristian has brought an expert view on climate change resilience and emissions mitigation, working with government, international financial institutions, and corporates including some of the world’s largest manufacturers in steel and construction materials to evaluate climate risk, manage emissions, and conduct environmental impact assessments. 

Notably, Kristian has helped design plans for UK Government, Green Building Council and Green Construction Board to help guide their net-zero goals, including a 2050 net-zero whole-life carbon roadmap for the UK built environment. He also led an Arup team on a global study with the International Finance Corporation (a member of the World Bank Group) to price carbon effectively, and in another study, to scale up climate finance through green building rating schemes with climate policy and financial experts.
