Kym is an acoustic engineer and specialises in measuring, predicting and assessing noise and vibration from industry and transport infrastructure.  

Based in Melbourne, he's worked on major highway and railway projects in Australia, the UK and the US, and specialises in the vibro-acoustic design of railway systems and railway airborne and groundborne noise assessment.

He was previously a member of the Australian Government’s Independent Scientific Committee on Wind Turbines and is currently a Sessional Member of Planning Panels Victoria. Kym has written guidelines for the measurement and assessment of wind turbine noise in Victoria.

Kym became an Arup Fellow in 2022 and is passionate about guiding and developing the younger engineers and consultants around Arup, so that we, together as a community, can positively influence the projects we work on and the world around us.
