Dr. Matt Kennedy leads Arup’s Climate and Sustainability team in Ireland, providing climate policy and advisory services at city, corporate, national and infrastructure scale. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the fields of sustainable energy, climate change mitigation and adaptation and climate finance.

Matt has worked extensively with private sector clients on sustainable energy, transport and climate mitigation projects. At the national scale, he has also delivered technology needs assessments and market transformation measures in countries across Africa, South East Asia and Middle East, and developed roadmaps and guidelines for the Irish Government and Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.

Through this work, he has collaborative experience of international finance organisations, development agencies, scientific and technical bodies, private sector entities, developing country counterparts and civil society organisations.

Matt holds a PhD in Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, and Masters’ degrees in Development and Business Administration from NUI Galway and University College Dublin.
