Nicole Bennetts
Former Senior Urban and Regional Planner
Nicole specialises in integrated cities thinking, planning policy and drafting, strategic land use planning, land use and infrastructure integration, and sustainable precincts. She has worked as a strategic and statutory planner in both public and private sectors.
Nicole has more than 13 years’ experience as an urban and regional planner, working in local government and property developer sectors. She is an integrator and passionate urbanist with a focus on city shaping, urban and regional planning, policy preparation, community engagement and property development.
Nicole project manages multidisciplinary teams of planners, designers, engineers and others to deliver strategic planning projects. Prior to joining Arup, Nicole held a leadership role within strategic urban and regional planning at City of Gold Coast where she led local planning and was responsible for the policy and also for contributing to drafting of various City Plan amendments.
Nicole is a Registered Planner as recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA), a Fellows Committee Member for PIA Queensland, and Chair of the Housing sub-committee of the PIA Queensland Policy & Advocacy Committee. Nicole was formerly Queensland Vice President of the PIA and the PIA Young Planner of the Year 2014.
She is a member of Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Qld Housing Supply and Affordability Committee.
