Omid Nakhaei is Arup’s Toronto Office Leader and a Principal, bringing over twenty years of experience delivering high quality design solutions in major public projects predominately in Transport and Infrastructure sector.

Through his involvement in design and delivery of several metro and rail projects in all stages of the design process, Omid has gained a holistic knowledge of public transport, including civil works, transportation systems and station architecture. He has refined a unique skill set combining analytical and design thinking to identify major opportunities for our clients in large infrastructure projects. Since joining Arup in 2005, he has delivered design leadership for numerous projects including the Cityringen Metro project in Denmark and the Finch West LRT project in Toronto. Building on his formal training in architecture and business management, he has key skills in concept design, design leadership, delivery and procurement of rail projects in both public and private sectors. He has also worked on variety of other Infrastructure projects around the world including the Istanbul Metro, Northern Line Extension in London, and the Doha Metro.
