Paul Simkins

Associate

Paul is an Architect, Engineer, Urbanist and Strategic Designer who provides integrated design and strategic advice on a range of projects across infrastructure, resilience, wellbeing, place-making and urbanism. His experience ranges from design and delivery to strategy, planning, policy and engagement. He balances practice-based research and innovation with outcomes-led design and project delivery.

He has worked across multiple sectors from water and environmental infrastructure to urban masterplanning, housing, city resilience and urban health and wellbeing. He has extensive experience of stakeholder engagement and collaborative approaches to design and innovation. Paul’s interdisciplinary background enables him to integrate across sectors and disciplines to take a whole-systems approach. Current areas of focus include innovation in water urbanism and outcomes-led infrastructure design, including new stewardship models, adaptive planning and partnership delivery. Paul is also leading ongoing research into health-led approaches to planning, policy and design, exploring health and wellbeing as a catalyst and lens for place-based action and investment.
