Ramon Rodriguez is a Director and Arup Spain’s Group Leader and previously he led the Energy & Resources Business and the Advisory Practice in Spain. 

During his more than 20-years career at the firm he has worked as discipline and team leader providing design and advisory services on a variety of building types, large developments, cities, and associated infrastructures.  

Ramón has been combining activities as a project director working for corporate clients, developers or investors, and the energy business leadership in Spain, as well as in the Europe Region and globally, where he led the urban energy business advisory activities.  

A mechanical engineer by training, during his professional career as senior designer and energy consultant he was responsible of the sustainable energy and low carbon strategies. Ramón pioneered in Spain the implementation of international sustainability certification systems and is still, a member of the Board of Directors of the Green Building Council of Spain

For the last years he has been working for International Financial Institutions, as the EBRD, World Bank, Private funds and Investors or corporate clients providing sustainability, energy and climate consulting services. Project highlights include the Telefónica’s advisory on 10-year clean energy PPA in Spain, Post-tsunami reconstruction plan, energy audits for refugee housing and the world’s largest Zara store at Castellana 79.
