Robin is a Chartered Civil Engineer with extensive engineering and project management experience leading award-winning flood and coastal risk management schemes, and sustainable drainage projects. He specialises in justifying and delivering flood and coastal risk management infrastructure, working collaboratively to exploit opportunities to maximise wider benefits. His expertise spans business case appraisal studies, civil engineering design and construction, asset management, training, engagement and policy advice in both supplier and client roles.

Robin leads Arup’s Water Skills Network in the UK, India, Middle East and Africa region – a subject matter community focused on learning, knowledge management, digital, foresight, innovation, and research with an ambition to foster a culture of excellence on projects across the integrated water cycle.

Robin also leads a team of civil engineers, scientists and modellers based in our Bristol, Cardiff and Winchester offices whom develop solutions to water and environmental problems, focusing on social, environmental and economic sustainability for clients including Welsh Government, the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and local authorities.

Robin is a current member of Welsh Government’s Flood and Coastal Erosion Committee who collectively provide advice on all aspects of flood and coastal risk management in Wales, and supports Welsh Ministers and Welsh risk management authorities.
