I am a structural engineer and the digital leader for our buildings work in Australasia.
I have a passion for collaborating with leading architects and contractors on large, multidisciplinary projects. I have led the design of high-profile projects involving complex forms, dynamic, non-linear and fatigues-sensitive structures. It is that passion for the complex – in teams, in structures – and for collaboration that has made me such an enthusiastic adopter of new and emerging technologies. Data-driven, automated design solutions radically streamline the delivery of these complex projects, adding real value to clients and contractors. I am also a committed advocate of technological research, pushing what digital tools make possible. Innovations like those in parametric design and the integration of Open BIM (building information models) are helping to transform the sustainability of the solutions we produce.
I lead the firm’s drive towards automation and the digital transformation of our buildings business in the Australasian region. That sees me running a number of global digital projects and putting advanced digital delivery in place for both internal and client projects.
Digital technologies have been at the heart of many of the projects I have managed, like the Optus Stadium in Perth. I led the engineering design for the stadium. It was the smart use of digital tools that allowed us to deliver this hugely successful facility well ahead of programme. It has gone on to win dozens of awards and, more importantly, has been a real success for the people of Western Australia.
