I am a structural engineer in Arup’s Specialist Structures & Mechanical Team in London. I provide specialist advice both inside and outside Arup on Existing Buildings, Seismic, Structural engineering in developing countries, Timber and Bamboo.

I am currently on the panel updating the latest ISO 22156 bamboo structural design code, and the seismic design of timber section of Eurocode 8. I am also on both the Humanitarian and International Development and the Earthquake Engineering Field Investigation Team Panels of the Institution of Structural Engineers.

I am passionate about sharing good structural engineering knowledge and practice, and routinely run internal and external training courses, as well as present at conferences, universities and events. I am particularly passionate about appropriate structural engineering in developing country contexts, and believe we have a duty to share good practice to improve the resilience of community infrastructure and housing worldwide.
