Stephen is a civil engineer with more than 15 years’ experience and leads Arup’s Water Catchments and Modelling Team in the West UK. Stephen is passionate about the health of our rivers, coast, and natural environment. He has worked his whole career in the water and environment sector, delivering projects ranging from designing wastewater treatment works and addressing storm water overflows to business case and water strategy development. He has a focus on nature-based solutions, taking a ‘whole-catchment’ approach and developing novel digital tools.

Stephen’s work includes projects making a significant impact on water quality in Wales. He led Arup’s contribution to the Llanelli National Environment and Green Infrastructure Delivery Programme – a 10 year, £100m, catchment-wide suite of projects to improve water quality and shellfish health in the Loughor Estuary in South Wales. He leads Arup's storm overflow delivery programme for Welsh Water, a range of wastewater treatment projects and a national nutrient assessment for Welsh environmental regulator, National Resources Wales.
