Five Ideas for South Yorkshire

The 2022 South Yorkshire Mayoral election comes at an important moment for the region. It offers a unique opportunity for major positive change and to secure lasting improvements in both human and planetary health. Action across several areas, from supporting industry, to improving the energy efficiency of homes and the public transport system will be needed.

We have used our wide expertise and local knowledge from working in South Yorkshire for over 60 years to propose a set of transformative policy ideas. Developed around creating a more inclusive, prosperous, resilient, and low carbon future for South Yorkshire all ideas could be initiated within the mayoral term commencing in May 2022.
