Arup worked with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to examine how the principles of circular economy can be translated into everyday built environment practices.
In the first publication to come out of this collaboration, we identify the stakeholders best placed to take the first steps towards achieving a circular economy in our sector, and suggest actions they may take to kickstart the transition.
Arup analysed over 110 case studies with some element of circular economy thinking, and, working with 3XN Architects and GXN Innovation, spoke to over 100 built environment stakeholders across five cities in Europe. A combined analysis identified the barriers, opportunities and enablers to adoption of circular economy while highlighting the key stakeholders and what their first steps might be.
