Regions across the world are experiencing simultaneous social, economic, and environmental challenges. To secure their long-term future in this volatile environment, organisations find themselves pulled between the need to respond to immediate challenges whilst grappling with issues that will shape their future success.
A common thread crucial to navigating these uncertain operating environments is the need to deliver sustainable outcomes. Net Zero, nature positive, climate resilience, social equity to name but a few.
Drawing on our UK and global experience, we developed this paper to help organisations understand the imperatives of sustainable outcomes and how total value decision making can not only offer an approach for their delivery but also create purposeful and successful organisations. In this paper, we set out six essential qualities for organisations to practice total value decision making and a maturity map to guide their progress.
