The Arup Journal 2019 Issue 2

The Arup Journal showcases some of the best of our firm’s work, with stories from our most challenging projects and added technical information.

In this latest edition, we look in depth at the regeneration of the historic Coal Drops Yard in the Kings Cross area of London, the Cultana Pumped Hydroelectric Energy Storage scheme that will make the power grid more resilient, and the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh's Scott Hall.

We also explore the seismic and fire engineering challenges our team overcame in designing China Zun – at 528m the tallest building in Beijing – and how our firm led the UK Autodrive consortium that successfully demonstrated connected and autonomous vehicle technology and transportation on the streets of the UK.

Finally, learn how our multi-disciplinary team developed the design of the stunning V&A Dundee museum in Scotland which draws on the history of the city as a centre of commerce and shipbuilding.
