The £55m, 60,000m2 Cadbury-Wedel confectionery production-warehouse in Skarbimierz, Poland, comprises 12 production lines divided into allergen and non-allergen zones, office space and social rooms. The facility also includes auxiliary buildings and infrastructure such as an energy centre, raw materials handling unit, production waste storage, roads and car parks.
Arup carried out design work encompassing masterplanning, architecture, geotechnics, roads and mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Arup provided strategic advice for business case justification followed by multi-disciplinary design services.
The firm has been instrumental in developing a holistic solution which delivered Cadbury’s objectives and reduced client risk while facilitating a step change in efficiency for confectionery production.
