Bolstering public infrastructure resilience with digital
Arup’s web-based mobile collection tool ‘Marq’ was used. This enabled us to easily capture asset photography and other observations.
We collated findings from almost 20 sub-systems across the Kajang Line. Our survey team of 50 people worked on site daily for a month, with coordination carried out through multiple workshops and brainstorming sessions. We also tapped into Arup’s global expertise.
We adopted a risk-based sampling approach for this survey, with factors including health and safety, environmental impacts and service levels considered.
We reported our findings, conclusions and recommendations from the survey, including a complete database of the survey findings, forecasted remaining asset life, and identified any assets where remedial action was needed.
This tool was integral to the success of this project, keeping commuters between Kuala Lumpur and outlying areas on the move.
