LKK Wastewater Treatment Plant, Taguig City, Metro Manila

Treatment process within the plant is fully covered below the ground to minimise environmental impact

The Liwasan ng Kagitingan at Kalikasan (formely LNMB) Wastewater Treatment Plant has a treatment capacity of 75 mega-litres per day. It serves the Taguig and Makati areas of Metro Manila and provide significant improvements to the water reaching the downstream watercourse.

Arup has managed the project on behalf of the client from the formulation of the contract documents, through the tender period and evaluation to construction and commissioning on site.

During the procurement stage, our process engineers developed a full reference design for the plant, and recommended the best layout with a suitable treatment process. This saves the client considerable cost over the project’s lifetime.

The design we developed and specified places the whole treatment process underground to minimise the impact on the surrounding areas. The plant is covered by a landscaped park to maximise the use of space and extend the green space and amenities for public enjoyment.
