Project oversight for architecturally ambitious public pavilion

New York’s Consulate General of the Netherlands engaged Arup to provide management oversight for an award-winning pavilion commemorating the joint Dutch-American celebration of the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s arrival in New York Harbor.

Designed by celebrated Dutch architect Ben van Berkel of UN Studio, the project also included development of the surrounding public plaza.

We worked with the client and project team to provide independent oversight of their strategies for delivering the project in time for the anniversary celebrations, to meet both schedule and budget constraints.

Our scope included endorsing their project management approach and procurement methodology, reviewing schedule and progress, tracking budget position and authorization of fund release, and assessing project risks.
