NTT Data Centre, Ho Chi Minh City

Meeting Tier III+ standards for resilience and efficiency

To meet the increasing demand for data centre infrastructure in the region, NTT Global Data Centers, one of the world’s largest IT infrastructure and data centre solutions provider, has partnered with local IT firm QD.Tek to develop a new data centre in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Following the successful completion of site due diligence and masterplanning, Arup was commissioned  to further provide multidisciplinary services for the data centre facility. To meet the rigorous facility design following Tier III+ standards, a cross-region collaboration was essential – our Ho Chi Minh City team was responsible for MEP design, structural and traffic engineering, while our Hong Kong team provided fire life safety and security consultancy services with our Singapore team contributing to acoustic engineering.

Project Summary

6MW IT load

5,000 IT space

16,700floor area

A new digital stage for NTT in Southern Vietnam

The 5-storey data centre, located on a 10ha land in Saigon Hi-tech Park, is fully equipped with a total client IT capacity of 6MW across 3,100m² of server rooms, equivalent to 1,200 racks. The building was designed with the hyperscale-ready concept including 5,000m² of IT space, office areas, and IT vaults.

Scheduled for full operation by early 2026, this cutting-edge facility is poised to deliver high-quality data centre services such as server collocation, remote support management, and cloud services. Furthermore, pioneering research in robotic systems and automation is set to elevate the efficiency and precision of data centre operations.

Energy efficient design

To improve energy efficiency with power usage effectiveness value below 2KW/m², the facility incorporates a redundant water-cooled system, CRAH units in the suites and technical rooms, and hot aisle containment to support high densities and maximise efficiencies.

With excellent communication facilities, disaster response measures and a robust security system, the data centre ensures unwavering stability and high availability of services. This is achieved through meticulous design to meet the Tier III standards for data centres that NTT has cultivated over the years on a global scale.
