Realising a state-of-the-art medical centre

Operated by Ramsay Sime Darby Healthcare, one of the best healthcare service providers globally, the ParkCity Medical Centre was established to primarily meet the medical needs of the mainly affluent community of the township in which it is located. Strategically placed in Desa ParkCity, the state-of-the-art private hospital with 300-bed capacity, is the largest of its kind in the north of Kuala Lumpur city centre.

Warm and soothing for improved healing

ParkCity Medical Centre offers top notch healthcare with advanced diagnostics and around the clock emergency services. Along with multidisciplinary care, it is also a centre of excellence specialising in children, elderly and women’s health.

We led the geotechnics, civil and structural engineering design for this nine-storey modern medical centre boasting a triangular-shaped ward with a central courtyard at the outpatient clinic sheltered by rooftop gardens. Surrounded by greenery coupled with natural ventilation and daylight, the reduced carbon footprint design gives a bright, warm yet soothing ambience for an improved healing environment.

Surrounded by greenery coupled with natural ventilation and daylight, the reduced carbon footprint design gives a bright, warm yet soothing ambience for an improved healing environment.

We worked closely with a medical planner to take into consideration special loadings from medical equipment such as MRI and CT scan machines as well as the heavy lighting on the ceiling of operating theatres. Besides that, a clear strategy for integrating structural and service zones was developed and provision made in the design to suit the needs of future re-planning.

We facilitated the full design and site supervision of this modern medical centre with detailed attention to the equipment's special loadings and delivery path. ”
