A complex of new office buildings in Beijing.

Despite the economic recession in 2008, Perfect World, a NASDAQ listed company and one of the largest internet game providers (and gaining grounds in the movie industry in China), purchased a new office premises in Beijing that they intend to upgrade into a Grade-A office space to serve as their global headquarters and accommodate their business expansion.

Arup was commissioned to provide project management and construction management services to complete the 55,000m² infrastructural upgrades and fitout project. Our team assisted the client at the outset in carrying out a due diligence survey of the facility, review the client’s long term business plan and establish the client’s design and operational requirements. Systematic project management process including procurement strategy, effective contractual arrangements, tight cost control and vigilant quality monitoring were also implemented.

The new premises was designed to accommodate over 3,000 staff with functional spaces that include an executive business centre, meeting areas, a gymnasium, recreation areas, a data centre with 200 racks, a restaurant, a VIP lounge, and an underground car park. The existing mechanical and electrical infrastructures have also been upgraded to comply with the client’s demanding requirements.
