The `Forum´ shopping mall project comprises the refurbishment of an existing shopping centre, GBA 10,000m² and an additional new build part, GBA 7,000 m² in the old pedestrian zone of Niš, a city located in southern Serbia.
Arup was part of the project management team responsible for various services. The key services provided included project management, cost management, the presence of a resident engineer, statutory site supervision, tenant fit out supervision and technical inspection of the detailed design. Among the members of our team were engineers from all the relevant disciplines - from structural, mechanical and electrical engineering to public health services and architecture.
Presence in all stages
Our engineers performed the technical inspection of the detailed design prior to construction work and they also provided professional services on site during construction. They were responsible for the quality of the work and compliance with the local design and local legislation.
Finally, Arup prepared an original cost plan and a project budget and also monitored cost and expenses during the whole project life-cycle. Arup was responsible for the authorization of all expenditures and cash flow forecasts.
