Integrated nature solutions

Working together to secure a nature-positive future

Working together to secure a nature-positive future

Organisations and governments are becoming increasingly aware of the global nature crisis, their impact on it, and the need to move towards a nature-positive future. However, it can be difficult to navigate exactly what needs to be done, or even to know where to start to implement a solution. But inaction could expose businesses to significant risks, supply chain disruption and potential consumer and investor repercussions.

Our integrated nature solutions cover a diverse range of techniques that support the regeneration of ecosystems whilst simultaneously increasing our resilience to the impacts of climate change ” Jonathan Ben-Ami Jonathan Ben-Ami Global Environment and Biodiversity Leader

To solves these issues, we take an integrated approach, working closely with our clients to help them explore how their organisational and nature related challenges intersect, from material choices to site selection to infrastructure requirements or climate adaptation measures. Our integrated nature solutions use nature’s own systems as a design guide, achieving healthier, more resilient environments that support and protect people and communities.

We believe there is always a way to balance nature positive outcomes with commercial and policy goals.

Our expertise cover Nature-based Solutions, Regenerative Land Management and environmental consulting alongside a suite of integrated nature solutions that protect, restore, and build resilience across air, land, fresh water, and oceans, to support thriving biodiversity and a better, more sustainable future for all.

How we work with you

Appraisal and assessment

Appraisal and assessment

We help organisations to understand how their activities, proposed policies or design choices will affect nature. Our experts are experienced in undertaking a full range of environmental assessments, appraisals, and statements for air quality, water, land and soil quality and biodiversity. Moving beyond these more traditional assessments, we regularly undertake specialist assessments for natural capital, biodiversity and environmental net gain and water quality.

In doing so, we can help you to understand what actions need to be undertaken to avoid, reduce and mitigate any negative impacts on nature as well as working to increase ecosystem resilience and deliver nature recovery.

Identify risks

Identify risks

We work with clients to understand the extent to which they are exposed to present and future nature and climate related risks and help organisations to incorporate nature-related risk and opportunity assessments into their strategy and management processes. This includes corporate measuring and monitoring, due diligence reporting, environmental certification delivery and the development and formal frameworks such as Science-based Targets for Nature.

Advisory support

Advisory support

Enhancing nature and reducing the negative impacts of an organisation’s activities and their supply chain on nature requires a programmatic and collaborative approach. We provide specialist input into Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) frameworks, nature recovery plans, design guidelines, circular business models and sustainable supply chain management strategies that promote the protection, enhancement, and recovery of the natural environment. Our experts also provide independent technical reviews for sustainable financing and facilitate access to green bonds and finance that can be used to help support nature recovery.

Nature driven design

Nature-driven design

Beyond individual corporate or site-specific goals, we help clients to develop environmental and societal strategies at the local, regional, or national scale. These include the delivery of Nature-based Solutions at scale, regenerative land management strategies, integrated catchment strategies and green and blue infrastructure planning and design.

Regulatory support

Regulatory support

We help our clients to obtain regulatory approvals or permits by implementing nature positive solutions. This includes providing advice for regulatory compliance and undertaking environmental planning. We also support our clients undertake the measurement of operational outcomes and impacts, comparing them to targets and advising on measures to achieve desired outcomes.

Where we can support you

The nature-based agenda is relevant and applicable everywhere:

Cities

Cities

We must bring nature back into our cities and neighbourhoods, by greening streets and buildings, enhancing and connecting green spaces, naturalising urban rivers, and prioritising nature-based solutions and striving for circulatory. In doing so, urban development can be shaped to have a positive impact on nature by increasing biodiversity, reducing air pollution, improving water quality, and reconnecting city dwellers to the value of nature.

Asset management

Asset management

We work with clients to manage their property and asset portfolios to understand existing environmental, social and economic values and unlock new revenue streams.  This includes building resilience into portfolios and supporting them in manging their asset and corporate strategies in becoming nature and climate positive.

Coasts and oceans

Coasts and oceans

There is much that can and should be done to protect and restore coastal and marine habitats. Our work identifies areas in the coastal and marine environments where projects can support nature related objectives including biodiversity enhancements, carbon storage and coastal flood management as well as wider goals such as climate resilience, local economy enhancement and livelihood benefits.

Catchments

Catchments

We will help to develop new business models and secure investment for projects that restore natural systems and enhance biodiversity at scale while simultaneously providing multiple, large-scale environmental benefits, including flood risk reduction, increased carbon sequestration, conserving water supplies and providing healthy water systems.
