The Structural Engineering Year in Review celebrates the depth and diversity of Arup’s global structural engineering work. This edition features ten projects that reflect our commitment to exploring the boundaries of what structural engineering can achieve.

The selected projects span multiple regions and sectors, demonstrating how our engineers are applying advanced materials, refined analytical methods and collaborative design processes to solve complex challenges. From the reusable domes of the Blue Ocean Dome Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, to the seismic design enabling the combination of structural steel and timber in the California College of Arts Campus Expansion, the projects highlight the innovation and rigour that underpin our structural engineering expertise.

The Year in Review reflects our contribution to major civic and cultural buildings, such as the mass timber Galkangu Bendigo GovHub, the refurbishment of Nottingham’s iconic tensile roof of the Castle Meadow Campus Central Building, and the intricate restoration of the Oriel Window at Dublin’s historic Guinness Storehouse.

These projects highlight the collective expertise of our global structural engineering community and our continuing ambition to create structures that enhance the places we work and benefits the people who live there.
