Arup's Cairns office was officially opened in 1993 and has grown from three people providing project management services to an office of 30 providing structural, civil, water, sustainability and project management services to a diverse range of clients in the region.
Landmark projects for the office can be found throughout North Queensland - the Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walkway, the Northern Territory and Papua New Guinea.
Arup's team in Cairns is committed to finding sustainable solutions to the challenges posed by the tropics - extreme weather, the impact of tourism, and the ability of the built environment to coexist with the natural environment.
