Arup is celebrating success after being announced as Consultancy of the Year at the 2014 Guardian Sustainable Business Awards.

The award acknowledges Arup’s consultancy work and its ability to affect ‘real-life’ change with projects such as C40 Cities, The Low Carbon Routemap and carbon footprinting Global Fund health grants for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The Guardian judges praised Arup for the scale of its transformative work, commending it for its data collection skills, great partnering, collaboration and the longevity of its projects.

Arup has a tradition of being in the vanguard of new thinking and this is very much the case when it comes to our wider sustainability agenda. This thinking is reflected in the way we approach our projects and is demonstrated in our drive to create solutions that leave a legacy for the future. This award really emphasises the value we endeavour to bring to our clients – from strategy through to delivery – seamlessly integrating sustainability into everything that we do. Held annually, these industry-leading awards recognise innovation and impact in corporate sustainability. Consultancy of the Year is a special award given to a consultancy that has delivered multiple outstanding projects, which have not only enabled clients to drive innovation but also impacted on the clients’ overall sustainability initiatives.

Arup shares this accolade with Impactt, a consultancy specialising in human rights, labour standards, gender and international development.
