Arup and the Curtin University Sustainability Policy (CUSP) Institute are pleased to announce the formation of the Arup-CUSP collaborative partnership, bringing theory and practice together.

CUSP’s Professor Peter Newman and Arup’s Allan Mason will lead the collaborative partnership, which aims to deliver tangible outputs in many areas of the ‘green economy’ including sustainability policy, planning for sustainability, sustainable urban infrastructure and development, rural sustainability, resilience and climate change.

The collaborative partnership will strengthen our transition to an ecological age and we look forward to working with CUSP to explore real solutions to some of the most important challenges facing our world today and over coming decades.

Our focus will be on leadership and enhancing our collective ability to influence change in the fields of mutual interest. Real world projects will be tackled, providing tangible and commercial solutions.

- Allan Mason, Principal at Arup

By integrating theory and practice, and drawing on the combined talents and knowledge of Arup and CUSP, the collaborative partnership will reinforce Arup’s leading market position, and will reaffirm CUSP as a leader in academia.

CUSP and Arup is a partnership made in heaven. CUSP is one of the world's largest sustainability research institutes with 55 PhD's doing cutting edge research on how we can create a more sustainable future for our cities and regions. Arup is the world's premier consultancy on sustainability matters with a long track record of innovative projects.

"What does CUSP need from this partnership? We need opportunities to be part of cutting edge projects, to trial our ideas. What can Arup expect from us? Lots of good ideas that may help set up the next wave of innovative projects. Together we are an unstoppable combination!
