Alejandro is a Director at the Integrated City Planning Team at Arup in London and Milan. He has been working in the Arup Integrated City Planning Team since 2002 in the UK and Europe and has led, and contributed to, the planning and implementation of large scale urban masterplans, multi-portfolio programmes for sports events and reconstruction globally, for government agencies, private companies and public private partnerships.

He is currently the Technical Assurance Lead for Integral Solutions for the United Kingdom Delivery Team, in the context of a government-to-government (G2G) agreement between the UK and Peruvian governments, to support a countrywide Reconstruction with Changes Programme after the impact of El Niño event in 2017.

Between 2012 and 2016 he was the Executive Director of CREO Antofagasta, a public-private initiative to develop and implement a strategic urban plan for Antofagasta, the mining capital of Chile; and Executive President of Construye 2025, a government led public-private initiative to improve environmental sustainability and productivity across the construction industry in Chile.

His experience has developed in advising clients in strategies and plans for cities and districts where public-private initiatives need to address multi-stakeholder engagement, environmental sustainability, socio-economic benefits and commercial viability in an integrated manner.

As a thought leader in his field of expertise he has been a speaker and was invited to lecturer at a number of institutions including the London School of Economics, Said Business School – Oxford University, Architectural Association-UK, Royal Institute of British Architects, UCL Bartlett School of Architecture, and Imperial College London.
