Damian Grant is an earthquake engineer engaged in a broad range of global projects, including the design of new buildings, bridges and energy infrastructure, and the seismic assessment of existing structures. He provides specialist guidance to clients, including NGOs, developers, multinationals, and governmental agencies, on how best to address the seismic threat to their people and assets.

Damian is the lead author of Earthquake Design Practice for Buildings for ICE Publishing, now in its 4th edition. The book covers the principles of designing earthquake-resilient buildings, structural detailing requirements governing different construction materials and structural systems, and the use of seismic protective devices, such as seismic isolators, dampers and self-centring systems.

He is passionate about how to make the best use of the latest technologies – both digital and physical – to reduce the risk of earthquakes to people and their livelihoods.
