David Algie is an Associate Director and Chartered Engineer who has worked at Arup for more than 15 years. Appointed as Arup Belfast Office Leader in 2022, David facilitates the impact the office can have in ensuring a real community that everyone feels part of and is well connected across the city.

Throughout his career, David has worked on and led a wide range of projects in Europe, the Middle East and Australasia. He is passionate about achieving sustainable outcomes combining excellence, innovation and efficiency in design.

David leads the Property, Science, Industry, Technology and Social Infrastructure team in Northern Ireland and has a wide spectrum of multi-disciplinary design experience covering many sectors including commercial property and healthcare. He is member of the Northern Ireland Building Regulation advisory committee and has recently completed a masters programme with the the Institute for Sustainability Leadership at Cambridge University.
