Jake Cherniayeff

Hydraulic and Fire Services Leader, Australasia

I am Australasia’s Hydraulic and Fire Services Regional Skills Leader, based in Arup’s Sydney Office. I joined Arup in 2014 and have over 17 years’ industry experience working on arts and culture, mixed use, education, commercial, sports and public buildings across the UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

I'm passionate about total integrated design and like to bring a collaborative 'One Arup' approach to projects, drawing on my contracting background to solve complex problems by providing considered, sustainable, efficient and cost-effective design solutions. I specialise in multi-discipline collaboration and building services integration, tall building design, adaptive re-use, complex roof drainage solutions and specialist fire suppression methods.

In addition to my role in Arup’s building engineering team, I sit on the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPAA) Technical Advisory Committees for Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, and Fire Sprinkler & Hydrants Systems, Tanks and Fixed Fire Pumps. I am also a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and Hydraulic Consultants Association of Australasia (HCAA).
