Janine Witko is a Principal and the Americas Water Leader based in Arup’s New York office. Having joined Arup in 2013, she has over 30 years of experience in a wide range of engineering and advisory projects, with specific emphasis on water engineering and advisory assignments. She brings extensive knowledge and a proven track record for implementing planning and design projects, across multiple sectors.

Recently, her focus has been on developing strategic plans and designs to achieve sustainable and resilient systems, while simultaneously addressing local socioeconomic and equity challenges. Of recent particular note is her involvement and leadership on several water system risk and resiliency assessments, the Chicago Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Strategic Plan, the NYC Department of Environmental Protection Kensico-Eastview Connecting Tunnel Design Augmentation project, and the greater Miami City Water Resilience Framework. Janine has worked with clients from the municipal, private, and federal sectors, delivering projects under traditional design/bid/build as well as alternative delivery schemes, and has provided associated advisory services.
