Jillian Hardie is a director and leads Arup’s business in Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North East of England.

She helps build diverse and inclusive teams that fully integrate Arup's services, bringing the best value to clients, collaborators, and partners while delivering a positive and sustainable impact in communities.

As a trusted advisor to clients, she has more than 20 years’ experience delivering major projects within the UK and internationally. She has led teams with a focus on low carbon design, helping clients set measurable and actionable targets against economic, social and environmental sustainability to deliver improved performance.

Jillian's understanding of commercial drivers, ability to form strong relationships and problem-solving expertise enable her to deliver the best possible outcome for different client needs.

Throughout her career, she has worked on a wide variety of projects, some highlights being the Sir William Henry Bragg Building for the University of Leeds, Melbourne Olympic Park masterplan and Legal & General sustainability strategy for their affordable homes and businesses.
