Jo is the Ports and Maritime Business Leader for Arup in the Americas, based in Montreal. She is currently leading Arup's team advising the Montreal Port Authority on the procurement of the Contrecoeur Container Expansion Project and previously led Arup’s Owner’s Engineer team for the Samuel de Champlain Bridge in Montreal.

A chemical engineer by training, Jo trained as both a process improvement consultant and lead auditor. She has a commitment to enhance business efficiency through problem identification, process development and optimization, which is underpinned by technical and financial knowledge in the maritime, construction, energy and automotive industries.

Her varied background helps her understand the science behind the use of green fuels for shipping, the logistical importance of moving goods from source to suppliers, and how to bring maritime projects to market and thus into operation.
