Karsten Jurkait is an Associate Director and a leading member of Arup’s Advanced Building Engineering team in Germany, which groups together a range of MEP, simulation and sustainability specialists working to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions for building services. Apart from his position in Germany, he has an integral role in Arup's regional and global MEP community.

Karsten’s engineering career spans more than 20 years, during which he has worked on a wide range of projects across the world, including airports, hotels and commercial office buildings. His portfolio features both ‘low-tech’ designs such as the sustainable, ‘passive technology only’ Druk White Lotus school in northern India; all the way to ‘high-tech’ buildings including a lab for German specialty chemicals group Evonik and a number of world-class museums like the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Having worked in our offices in the UK, the US, Spain, the Netherlands and Romania, Karsten is now based in his native Germany.

Karsten is currently the Europe Region Automation Leader and a member of the Europe Region Digital Executive.
