Nick Ash is the Southeast Asia Energy Business Leader, bringing technical, economic and policy expertise in energy and decarbonisation to clients and the industry.

He delivers exceptional value to our clients by providing sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective energy solutions. By addressing the intricacies associated with decarbonising the energy sector, Nick helps clients identify and navigate the risks, challenges and opportunities they face in charting a path to clean energy use and transitioning to net-zero.

Nick’s technical and economics expertise, along with his experience on projects in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas, has shaped his approach of combining local insight with international best practice.  His experience includes renewables, hydrogen, synthetic fuels, bioenergy, natural gas, hydropower, waste-to-energy, district heating and cooling, sustainable heat, regulated utilities and smart grids. 

Nick has worked with clients and partners across the full range of the project lifecycle from policy, strategic planning and due diligence, through implementation to operations and asset management.  These include utilities, developers, private companies, investors, regulators, multilateral development agencies, NGOs and public-sector agencies.  Notable projects include Canadian Green Shipping Corridors Preliminary Assessment and eThekwini Regional Hydrogen Strategy.

He actively contributes to the public dialogue about energy’s role in sustainable development, authoring reports on the role of alternative fuels in decarbonising our economy and sharing insights at global events. 

Nick is a Chartered Engineer and holds a Master in Energy Economics and Policy.
