Sara is the Cities Leader for NSW and ACT and her focus is to create more resilient, liveable places with a focus on sustainable development. Her background in transportation design, planning, ITS and business strategy and leadership, provides a unique point of view on complex city shaping programs and how to harness technology to improve the communities in which we live and work.

Sara’s strengths lie in strong preparation and planning, being able to deliver sustainable long-term solutions which solve complexity and result in resilient, future ready infrastructure that benefits society. She has over 23 years’ experience, which spans both the UK and Australia and includes city shaping projects such as Cycle Superhighways in London, Sydney Metro and Easing Sydney Congestion – a five-year program of works which included the design and construction of public transport and active transport projects.

Sara’s collaborative approach and engaging leadership style supports strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. She brings an informed understanding of the drivers and challenges faced by clients to deliver creative and collaborative design outcomes for communities.

Sara strongly believes that a culture of inclusion and diversity should be integral to any organisation, and that this should be reflected in the skills and mindsets of the team. She has been involved in mentoring schemes, both internally and externally, such as The Lucy Mentoring Program which connects women studying engineering or technology at University of Technology Sydney to industry professionals for one-on-one mentoring.
