A tailor-made climate system guarantees an improved air quality, whilst taking future developments into account

Three times in a row Saxion choose Arup, based on the positive experiences and the quality solutions we previously delivered for their school buildings. In collaboration with IAA Architect, we designed a tailor-made climate system, which meets the need for an improved air quality.

Our building services concept enables Saxion to adapt easily to the changing needs in the educational field, without having to compromise the technical or comfortable conditions. A raised floor plenum incorporates a ventilation shaft and the distribution for pipes, cabling for data and electricity. This way, most of the changes in the floor plan can be executed by Saxions' own technical staff.

Aiming for carbon neutrality, we developed an energy concept, which in the future can be connected to the soil sanitation plans of the town council. The polluted groundwater can be pumped into the cooling system of the building, and will be purified brought back into the ground again. This warmer water serves to warm the building in the winter.

Arup is responsible for the building servicesbuilding physicsfire engineering and sustainability concept. Previously we have also delivered the designs for Saxion Deventer and Saxion Enschede.
