Since 2020, Arup has been working with UK Delivery Team partners Mace and Gleeds, and our Peru public sector clients, now the National Infrastructure Authority (ANIN), to accelerate the delivery to international standards of schools, hospitals and healthcare centres, and integrated flood protection.

This report evaluates the social and economic impact of the projects already delivered or due to complete by 2030, combining surveys, focus groups and economic forecasting.

Findings include:

  • UKDT schools and health facilities are delivered 2-3 faster on average than comparable projects in Peru
  • 8 out of 10 people said their UKDT facilities exceeded expectations and they had better access to medical services
  • UKDT projects support 9,000 jobs per year through construction and the works will contribute $1+ billion to the national Peru economy by 2030 and $23 billion over the next 50 years through avoiding damage due to floods and mudslides
