Arup has won the Great ESG Initiatives Award at the BritCham Vietnam Great Awards 2023. This award recognises our outstanding ESG performance and achievements in shaping a more sustainable Vietnam.
As a sustainable consultant for the built environment, we are committed to contributing meaningfully to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In Vietnam, we have delivered various environmentally-friendly and socially-inclusive projects such as Vietnam-German University’s new campus, Hoa Lac National Innovation Centre and Hanoi Opera House. By providing multidisciplinary expertise on one of the largest wind farms in the country, and developing an electric mobility roadmap and a smart city handbook, we are laying the groundwork for a sustainable future in Vietnam.
Beyond our projects, we have made a clear commitment to support the most vulnerable and marginalised people and communities in Vietnam through socially useful work. Our Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) office has initiated local community engagement programmes covering nature education, climate-resilient communities and culture preservation.
The HCMC office is also working towards the firm’s global commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2030 by setting out its own targets and action plans to reduce carbon emissions across all aspects of its operations.
